The aspect I found most interesting about Paul’s discussion is that drug users are not being involved in the conversation as much as they should be when it comes to addiction. It is hard to find a solution to a problem if the people who are involved, and affected by the problem are not having their voices heard. Sadly, this is another example of a common theme that we see a lot today, the disenfranchisement of people who are being affected the most.

He also discussed harm reduction, and the right for people to self medicate. His discussion was different then most that we have heard throughout the semester, and I believe this to be important to get different opinions from different ends of the spectrum.
