A solution, when thinking about it in a journalistic aspect, is going further than just covering a problem, and writing a story about it. It’s about the community, and staying involved, in order to understand the full picture in an attempt to help solve whatever is happening in that community.
When it comes to evidence, it is the most important aspect of solutions journalism. A lot of times we see people coming up with ideas that they think would work, but have no evidence to support them. This is why evidence is so important, in order to find the best solution to a problem, evidence is the driving force to finding the correct answer.
As for an evidence-based solution, it is a solution that is not random, not off the top of the head, and well thought out. An evidence based solution does not happen overnight. It requires long hours and hard work, but in the end, it is most likely the correct answer.
