Journalist show us the trick of the trade when it comes to reporting on addiction

This was our final class speakers and it was two journalist, Morgan Zalot from NBC10 and Elena Gordon from WHYY’s they cam to talk to use about covering addiction in the news media. They also talked about their own experiences in other field while reporting on addiction.

I was really excited when these two journalists came to class because I remember watching Morgan Zalot’s  “Generation Addicted” piece she did for NBC10. It was a very eye-opening piece that was really my first experience with addiction being covered within news media. I had seen the shows on Discovery channel but nothing by a major news organization. They answered a lot of great questions and told us a lot about there experiences working in the field. They also told us about how to ask those difficult questions.
